I believe art belongs to everyone — that's why we built galerie POSTOJ in the metro, in public space. In a place that used to be a currency exchange ripping off tourists.
Our exhibitions open up topics that resonate in contemporary society. We give space to young artists and art school students.
I'm convinced that Czech contemporary art has its place in the world. And I'll do everything I can to get it there as galerie POSTOJ.
We believe contemporary art should be accessible to everyone — regardless of age, education or profession. Traditional galleries put up barriers. We break them down.
In 2022 I was standing one evening in the metro at Náměstí Republiky, staring at an empty shop window. A former currency exchange that ripped off tourists. Dark, messy, nothing more. That evening I knew we'd turn that space into a gallery. For people, not elites.
